Fading To Ashes

In the darkness you hide, hidden from your true self, the ugly truth that shows what you truly are on the outside, but you weren't always this way, a single cigarette changed your world, plunging it into the dark abyss you now reside

your mask may hide your face,but it does not hide the damage that has been done. inhaling the intoxicating substance is your way out, to avoid what is around you, nothing,, but as you do you are slowly fading, every drag you take is days, months off of your life, your cigarette is like your life span, what will happen when it burns all to ashes?

to survive you must not continue to fall for the drugs tricks, for only when you put down the stick, and breath fresh air, will your world become light once more.

if you do not heed this warning, you will become nothing but left in your lonely world of black, as you FADE AWAY into nothing, just like your precious cigarettes, the more you inhale the less it becomes, ever drag you take could be your last, it is your choice, to die in the darkness that will consume you without a second thought,dying slowly as you destroy your mind and body, or you can put down your stick, and try for a new life, into the light living each day as if it was your last from your sudden experience, before its to late

this contest really struck a heart string because my dads a smoker and i really wanted to do something to express how i feel about it, so this is my creation of the MONSTER

i always thought the cigarette as it burning if your life span, as it burns your life gets shorter, this explains the creatures arm, and to make this piece more personal i asked my dad what it would fell like to smoke a whole pack of cigarettes, he replied with something like the pack sitting in your stomach hence the sticks in the open chest, EVER aspect of my creature has a purpose, the mask, the body shape, the places the fire is burning, the teeth, arms, legs, heart, chest, holes for eyes, everything, because its not some thing i thought of on the spot, my monster is my vision of what the true ugly looks like
